Research Focus

I am interested in population and community ecology, with a focus on aquatic ecosystems. I study how different species coexist and interact together in ecosystems, and how their abundances change through time and space in response their environments. My work focuses on ponds, lakes, and streams, and I work on organisms ranging from algae to fish (with a special fondness of aquatic insects). Undergraduates play a central role in my research, and I am always happy to discuss research opportunities with motivated students!
